Avengers - Loki Makeup Look

So for today's look I decided to try out one of my new Body Needs shadows i got last week(i know i need to make a haul/swatches post). When I got to work my fellow co-workers asked what superhero i was today. I said none that im aware of. Then one shouted out Green Lantern, but when i think of him i think green and white. So when I got home from work i decided to look up green superheroes. It turns out the arch nemisis of Thor, Loki, in the comic books is yellow and green. So now i have a Avengers villian look, awesome!!

Items Used:

*NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk

*88 Original Palette

*The Body Needs Blackened Emerald Shadow

*Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Pen

*Maybelline One by One

*Applied NYX HD Shadow Base

*NYX Milk to Lid, smoothed it out.

*First applied yellow shade.

*Then yellow green shade

*then darker green shade.

*then I applied Blackened Emerald Green dry to the crease.

*then i applied it wet over it.

*then applied milk to lower lashline.

*I then followed the order yellow, yellow green, and dark green on top.

*Next i lined my upper lashline with Maybelline Master Precise.

*Then Mascara

Notes: This also could be a Lemon Lime, Green Hornet, Green Lantern, or St Patrick's Day Look. Let me know in the comments if you love or hate it.

Avengers - Thor Makeup Look

Next up, and 2nd to last in my Avengers series is Thor. He with the mighty hammer lol I have a thor shirt and the name thor was in yellow and red, so i made those my main colors for this look. I found the comic book had the same colors for the Thor logo.

Heres the look i came up with:

Items Used:

*Beauty From the Earth Lemon

*88 Original Palette

*88 Shimmer Palette

*NYX Milk

*NYX Slim Eye Pencil in Yellow

*NYX Slim Eye Pencil in Sky Glitter

*First applied NYX HD Shadow Base Primer

*Waited for it to dry

*Applied NYX Eye Pencil Yellow to lid and smoothed it out.

*Next i wetted a brush and dipped it in the BFTE Lemon shadow and applied it to my lids.

*Next I took the Dark Red shade from the 88 Shimmer Palette and applied it to the crease.

*Next i applied NYX Milk to lower lashline.

*Then i took a mini smudger brush and applied a light blue shade from the 88 Original Palette over the NYX Milk.

*Then i applied NYX Sky Glitter to my waterline.

*Lined my eyes with Maybelline Master Precise.

*Then Maybelline Volume Express One by One Mascara

Notes: I know my looks arent very artistic, but im trying to make looks that are more wearable and simple enough for other to do. Im not a professional but hopefully they look ok. :)

Avengers - Black Widow Makeup Look

Next up in my Avengers series we have Black Widow. I was inspired by the makeup Scarlett Johansson was wearing in Iron Man 2. I paused the movie when their was a close up of her when she was at Hammer's Lab(???) trying to hack into the Ironman suit Rhodes was wearing. I saw she had a shiny white in the inner corner, and gray all over the lid, with a shiny white highlight. It looked bare on the lower lashes but her eye was line with a charcoal black.

Face:

*MAC Mineralize Satin Finish

*Physicians Formula Natural Powder Blush in Poppy

Lips:

*NYX Color Lip Balm in Grazie

*NYC Ultra Moist Lip Wear in Dubonnet

You can see that im not very good at putting fake lashes on and no matter what eye liner i tried to use i couldnt get it to go on right or cover to make the fake lashes line blend in..

*I started out by using NYX HD Eye Shadow Base

*Next I took WnW Charcoal and Drew a line to shape my eye for the gray shadow.

*I then filled it in and smudged it with a shadow brush.

*Next I applied Glamour Dolls Cloud Coverage to the inner corner of lid.

*Then patted on top UD Yeyo.

*Next I took the gray from the 88 Palette that was a close match to the gray the comic book character wore and patted it on to the rest of my lid, filling in where i had lined my eye.

*Next I took a lighter gray and patted it on top because in the movie the gray seemed to be a little lighter.

*Next I took my brush and dipped it into Cloud Coverage and Yeyo and applied it as a highlight.

*I then lined my upper lashline with Master Precise and winged it out a bit.

*Next I applied my Mascara.

*Then I applied the fake lashes to complete the look.

*I decided i didnt like the fake lashes because im not very good at applying them. So i took them off and just reapplied my liner.

Notes: Next time i think I will just use Yeyo as a highlight and leave out the Cloud Coverage. I however would still use Cloud Coverage in the inner corner of the lid. My Glam Bag April 2012

This is my third bag. I had meant to post the last 2 months just some how never got around to it or forgot. I find the shipping to be way faster then the birchbox. It came within 2 days of shipping.

My Glam bag is a monthly beauty box like birchbox, gogogirlfriend, glossybox, Allure Beauty Army, QVC Testtube, etc... Each bag cost $10 with free shipping, and its a mystery bag filled with a variety containing majority deluxe size samples of make up, skincare, haircare, makeup tools, or other misc. items. Sometimes they throw in a full size. I know a couple months back birchbox had beauty blenders(why didnt i wait it out one more month and i could have got one, maybe :/). Foundation Samples and Mini Haul

So my skin has been acting  up a lot lately. So i went to the mall today to get some foundation samples. The ladies at the stores were very helpful. I first went to sephora to get a makeup forever sample, since i have heard good things about it but after answering a few of her questions she decided i should try Smashbox Studio Skin Foundation in 1.2. She also gave me a sample of kate somervill gentle exfoliate. She told me it was made for sensitive skin. I needed one for my flaking skin on my nose and chin. Its superrrr expensive, so hopefully i dont fall in love with it. It retails for $65.00. I guess theres stuff out there alot more expensive, but for a girl on a budget, that is way out of my price range for someone with a Ross Dress for Less salary. I hope it just takes away my flakes for now. I also bought some skin care items to try out. The 100 pt samples were Tarte Lights Camera Lashes and Philosphy Purity. I decided to keep accumulating my points. Ive never gotten to the 500 pt yet because i was always spending them on a sample but i am at 396, so only $104 to go.

When i was walking to Sephora  I noticed they had put in a MAC store so of course I had to stop in. I was swatching all kinds of things. There was 4 colors i kept looking at but i decided i could only bring 1 home. The colors were Coppering, Expensive Pink, Star Violet, and Cranberry. I first picked out coppering but went with Expensive Pink. Its like a Pink, Peachy, Gold color, its super pretty!! It seemed the most versatile of the 4 shades. I also was swatching some eye liners and it was love at first swipe for the Pearlglide Intense Eye Liner in Undercurrent. Its a really shiny emerald green. The color is just TDF in my opinion. They were out of sample cups, so i went to Dillards and got a sample of Satinfinish in NC15. The girl said they were told recently that they were phasing it out. The girl said she loved this  product and its one of the reasons she works at the MAC counter. She said if they discontinue it and dont get a replacement, she's putting her two weeks in. lol She said it was what she was wearing and it looked flawless. Can't wait to try my sample. The full size bottle retails for $29. She gave me a lot so i can really see how i like it.

Then when I was walking through Macy's to get to my car I stopped at the Estee Lauder counter and the lady gave me a sample of the Double Wear Stay in Place Makeup Foundation in Shell. The full size bottle retails for $35.

Once I try these out, i will do a review of them. Im hoping to at least like one of them and if its the smashbox i like i will be on a lookout most likely for a comparing foundation since its more then what im really wanting to spend. $29 for the mac one is more then i have ever spent on a foundation(I use to buy Clinique Perfectly Real for $23) but the price is more reasonable. No purchase was needed to get these samples.

 

Other notes: I did my Black Widow look today for work and will have to redo it and take pics this weekend. I didnt have time this morning for pics, i was running late for work. I watched Iron Man 2 last night and paused it when they had close ups of Scarlett Johansson's eye makeup in the movie.

Avengers - Incredible Hulk Makeup Look Revamp

I decided to do the Hulk Look for work today but i couldnt find my Olivia Green. So i opted to use my 88 Original Palette instead. I didnt use immature either. Sorry in advance for my scary face picture. I was in a hurry this morning. I see that i have make up in my hair that i hadnt brushed yet. I also didnt have any lip balm or anything on yet.

I did everything the same except i substituted 2 greens from the 88 Original palette for Immature and Olivia Green. I also took the black and went over the Veteran.

I think its more of a hulk look anyways. Now its more green :)
