Ipsy - Glam Bag August 2013 Glamour Academy

I took pictures the day I got my bag but forgot where I had saved them. I finally came across them tonight. I'll try to post pictures of this month's bag when I recieve it.

Ipsy teamed up with Benefit cosmetics to giveaway to 1000 people a party kit to host a Lash Bash Party. I was so happy to get the email telling me I was one of those people!! My friend and I are planning my party. All the parties will happen on sept. 21st.

Thoughts on Bag: I love my UD Lipstick Sample!! Such a pretty red. I hear the michael todd pumpkin mask is awesome, so can't wait to try it out. I love trying out new mascara, and will try this one out once i finish my mascara im using. I don't really see myself using the micabeauty bronze shade so I will probably give that to a friend. I also thought the np color was one of the ugliest colors i've ever seen. I'm not into tomato color.. Overall this was a good mix of products. Im happy with what I got!!

Wearable Vampire-esque Look

I wanted to do a look using my Hot Rocks Shadow from DGC. Is a grayish taupe color with a rusty red duochrome. The colors make me think of vampire eye looks I've seen. I always see brown, red, black, beige colors used in them. I think a lot of the twilight inspired ones had more neutral colors

*Draw a cut crease UD Liner Whiskey
*Blend out some.
*Pat on DGC Glitter Glue onto lid.
*Apply DGC Hot Rocks to Lid.
*Blend DGC Bronze Dawn into Crease.
*With an angled liner brush apply dark crystal to crease.
*Then blend with a blending brush.
*Apply BFTE Guilty Pleasures to lower lashline.
*Apply BFTE Crystal as an inner corner highlight.
*Apply BFTE Very Vanilla to brow bone.
*Line eyes and waterline with Inglot 77
*2 Coats of Mascara

Darling Girl Cosmetics 1st Order - Swatches and Review

For awhile now i have noticed the name Darling Girl Cosmetics throughout the beauty world reading blogs, facebook beauty pages, etc... Wasn't til I saw a look XoXo Alexis Leigh posted a month ago that I discovered what amazing colors they have. I had seen a few looks here and there using some of their products but this one had sparkly duochrome shades used in it. I was immediately mesmerized by them. I couldnt click on their website fast enough.



Once I got there and started looking through the eye colors with my jaw dropping with every click, I knew I had to make an order. I decided to buy a few jars and also ordered a review kit which was on sale for a $1.00 (squeal!!). I thought that deal was super awesome for getting to try out 5 different products. I was going to order one of the lipglosses that looked awesome but they were sadly all sold out. I like that this site has a wishlist, so I can goto it when I want to order something and pick out from the beauties I had already discovered. I am on my 11th page.

This was the review kit I got. I chose 5 shadow samples and they came in the normal sample baggies. I believe each has an 1/8 of a tsp. 

*Sweet Savage: Matte Midtone carnation pink
*Rich Gurl: A sky blue thats on the periwinkle side with a green duochrome. Its very sparkly!!
*Persuasion: Medium lavender base with gold shift and turquoise sparkles. 
*Unicorn: A shimmery irridescent silvery white but when applied its a irridescent pale pink, maybe even a little purplish with turquoise sparkles.  This was my favorite color I recieved. I already went through the sample and had to order a jar of it. :)
*Obviously a Wig: Magenta with a blue/purple duochrome. I love this color!! I think it makes an awesome lip gloss color!!

The Petit jars cost $2.50 and they come with approximately 1/4 tsp in a 3 gram jar that includes a sifter. The full size comes in a 5g jar including sifter with approx. with a 3/4 tsp of shadow.

Basket Case: Bright purple with turquoise shift and gold sparkles.

Dark Crystal: Deep graphite with color shifts from lilac, red/silver to greenish-blue with a red/pink "diamond dust" sparkle.

London Calling: Indigo base with heavy red shift.

My Little Pony: Pale, pastel lavender with green shift and aqua and pink iridescence.

No Sign of Life: Oceanic blue with a brilliant grass-green shift and baby green sparkles.

Every package comes with a couple baggie samples and stickers. Also when you make a purchase of $10 or more you get the weekly GWP (Gift with purchase) shade. 

Peachy Keen: Peach with pink sheen along with gold/green/purple sparkles. This was a gift with purchase shade but if you contact susan she might have more that you can purchase. 
*Bronze Dawn: Ruddy pinky mauve base with strong gold sheen 
*Leaping Lizards: medium grey with golden green sheen that shifts to a grey with red/violet sheen


Thoughts: I love all these colors!! They are very sparkly. I find they work well with the glitter glue that I bought when i ordered from them a 2nd time. With all shadows I would say use a primer. These seemed to last a long time and are vibrant. I work in a stock room that only has a couple fans and no ac. I live in phx, so to give you a rough idea of the weather where I am at. I come home and my makeup has very minor creasing if at all. There can be a little fallout but not too bad. I love these and highly recommend their shadows. I can't wait to order more. I'm waiting til Sept. 6th to order some Halloween Shades from the Oh! The Horror Collection. :) I need to swatch these colors with DG glitter glue and will update this post with a pic.

Saturday EOTD - Friendship is Magic

I recently discovered 2 brands during the past month, Darling Girl Cosmetics and Impulse Cosmetics. I've already have made 3 small orders to DG and about to make a 2nd to IC. DG has a lot of duochrome shadows and blushes to choose from. You can order samples, petit jars, or full size jar. They also have an option to make a wishlist. I  found so many colors i like that my wishlist has 11 pages. Impulse cosmetics has duo chrome shadows, glitters, and their most popular item is their matte lipsticks. Im going to try the lipsticks out next.



One of the main colors I used fits the name of this look being that its called "My Little Pony".  One of my favorite toys from my childhood was of course My Little Ponys. The new generation comes nowhere close to being as good as the original from the 80s. I even remember watching the cartoon My Little Pony Tales. I remember even having a purple mlp stuffed animal that had brushable hair. Yes, I was an 80s/90s kid. :)



I found a picture through google of the stuffed animal one i had. :) This one still has such pretty hair!



Of course I had to rock my MLP shirt while wearing this look. I found this top at DD's Discount for $3.99!! I couldnt believe how cheap it was since its a mlp official licensed shirt. I of course had to buy it. :)

*Blend white base onto lid with fingers. (NYX JEP Milk)
*Apply MLP and Basket Case to Lid.
*With an angled eyeliner brush draw a line in the crease using The Count.
 *Then with a small dome crease brush blend Penny Serenade into the crease.
*Using the same brush blend Seduce me into the top of the crease.
*Apply more MLP to lid.
*Apply a teal eyeliner to lower lashline. (UD Flipside)
*Apply No Sign of Life to lower lashline.
*Apply Unicorn as a inner corner highlight. (i love this sparkly shade!!)
*Highlight browbone with Very Vanilla.
*Line upper lashline and waterline with Black Gel Liner. (Inglot 77)
*2 Coats of Mascara (Maybelline Rocket)


Heres an upclose pic of my lips. I love this color as a lip color. <3 Its a magenta pink with a bluish purple duochrome. The Jordana ASAP gives it a pink sparkle. :) You can pick that gloss up from Walgreens for $1.99.
