Makeup Geek Shadows - Part 1

As Thrift Thicke would sing on YT, "Youtube made me buy it and now i'm going to try it". In January of last year after watching a Jaclyn Hill makeup geek favorite shadows video, I  decided to buy some of these shadows. I have since made a few orders since that initial order. I think I own now 40 shadows of theirs (38 pans and 2 pigments).

Makeup Geek Cosmetics is a makeup company started by Youtuber Marlena. She considers herself a makeup teacher rather then a makeup artist. I have been following her yt channel for quite a few years now. I think she was my second youtube subscription after Leesha (xsparkage). I don't know why I was so late joining the bandwagon on these shadows because they are amazing.
The shadows are pigmented, blend easily, and last all day. Plus they only cost $6 a Pan or $10 for their Foiled shadow pans. I noticed recently MAC reduced their price of their pro single refill pans to $6.00 and I think it's probably because they were losing business to this company since their shadows were $10 compared to MUG $6.00. I actually put my mug shadows in mac pro duo palettes with inserts.

These are the shadows I bought recently when they were having a bundle sale. From time to time they will put bundles of 9 shadows for a certain price. They are made up from their regular, duochrome, and foiled lined shadows. This set was on sale for $25 and i also bought one extra shadow. They currently have the Spring Fever Set for $30.
All their shadows come in these thin cardboard squares. I recently ordered some mac ones and they came in similar packaging.
I'll start with the 2 duochromes and 2 foiled shadows. Duochromes are when you have one color but when you move it around in the light it can reflect 1 or more other colors. The foiled shadows give you that wet (foiled) look without having to wet your brush.
Duochromes on the left and foiled on right. Took these outside with no flash.
Shade: Mai Tai
Description: Apricot Base with Orchid Reflects
Thoughts: I think it's a dark peach color that in certain angles it looks more pink. It reminds me a little of the duochrome shadow from the morphe jaclyn hills favorite palette (ES67).

Thoughts on Bag: My bag was ok this month. The eyeliner applies nice and I will probably use it for a waterline eyeliner. I'm not sure if I like the red shade of lip gloss on me. It's a nice lip gloss though. I have yet to try the nail polish but I'm sure I will like it. I've been using the night time moisturizer every night since I got it. I got the daily moisturizer sample in one of my past month's ipsy bags. I already went through both samples. :p I don't know about th shampoo though... I've never tried one of those before. My hair get's oily, so I  just wash my hair. I'm not sure if I can use the dry shampoo with my colored hair.

Avengers: Age of Ultron - Hulk

This look in't really based on the character from the movie but it's the eye makeup I wore to see the movie opening weekend. It's more inspired by the colors from the comic book rather then the character in the movie. I did a hulk look years ago when i first started wearing makeup before i knew about blending and all that. :p The cartoon/comic hulk has brighter colors compared to the movie hulk, which i prefer. Also using the brighter colors gave me an excuse to use my Urban Decay Electric Palette.

Items Used:
*Urban Decay Electric Palette
*NYX HD Base White
*BH Cosmetics 120 Palette 2nd edition
*Star Crushed Cosmetics Electric Lime
*Inglot #318
*Elf Studio Cream Liner in Black
*UD 24/7 Liner Black Velvet
*Mayebelline Lash Sensational Mascara

*Apply an Ey Primer. (UDPP)
*Apply a light pink transition shade to the crease. (Too Faced Kiss the Bride)
*Blended in a fuschia/hot pink shade into the crease. (I mixed UD Savage and Jilted)
*Then using a pencil brush I applied a purple shade to the crease. (UD Urban)
*Then i applied a purple shade from my 120 palette.
*Blend
*Then I applied a white base to my lid. (NYX HD Base White)
*I patted a lighter lime green shade to the inner 1/2 of my lid. (Mixed UD Thrash and Star Crushed Electric lime)
*Then pat on a darker bright lime green shade. (I mixed UD Freak and a few green shadows from the 120 palette)
*I then applied the lighter lime green shade to the lower lashline.  (UD Thrash)
*Then I blended in the purple shade. (UD Urban)
*I applied some white base to the inner corner. (NYX HD Base White)
*Then applied a matte white shade over. (Inglot #318)
*Lined eyes with a black cream/gel liner. (Elf Studio Black Cream Liner)
*Applied a black liner to waterline. (UD Black Velvet)
*Then applied 2 coats of Mascara (Maybelline Lash Sensational)
*Applied a flesh color to my brow bone. (Too Faced Bouquet Toss)
*** I had recreated the look i wore for my blog and i prefered the original because instead of using just the lighter green shade i used for the lower lashline, I also applied the darker lime green shade.

When i took a couple pictures outside, is when i noticed the big difference of my lower lashline compared to when i first originally wore it. I love how the purple looks though. :)

My skin has been really dry lately, and hate how it looks in natural lighting. :/

Heres a few more full face pictures.

Hope you enjoyed this look. :) I hope you had a chance to check out the new Avengers movie. I really liked it but I can't decide which one i liked more.
